i know 'safe' means yaaa... you are safe, far from danger, sth like that.

okay, so the www.italki.com says, safe and sound is usually used when you are arrived home safely (end of a trip).

the 'sound' means you are in good condition.

sooooo, i think in indonesia, we call it 'SELAMAT SENTOSA'.
